Ароматът беше приятен, долових леки флорални, тревисти нотки, които са резонно следствие от наличието на „pot still“ уиски. Отличих и нотки сушени плодове, плодов ликьор, ванилия и дървесно присъствие. Мирисът бе и сладникав. Вкусът бе приятен, сладникав, леко плодов, карамелен, с леки тревисти нотки. Финалът бе кратък до среден, плодов. Презентацията премина бързо и това бяха първите ми впечатления от Select reserve, който ще повторя при възможност.
Оценка: 85-86/100. Цената на бутилката е около 30 лв.
Jameson select reserve whiskey
After a few days break, I’m getting back to my favourite part of maintaining the blog, namely the tasting and describing the whiskey. I already mentioned that on the past Whiskey fest I attended at the class of Jameson, during which we have been provided three distillates of the brand – the standard Jameson, Select reserve/ Black Barrel/ and Jameson Gold. In this review I will present you Jameson select reserve.
What is specific about Select reserve is that the bourbon barrels used by Jameson, are toasted and charred second time before being filled with the whiskey. That’s why, it is also known as Black barrel. On the masterclass it was also positioned on the dark wooden base that emphasized this specificity. That on the picture is the black board that nicely held the glass with Reserve.
The aroma was pleasant, light floral and herbaceous notes, which are reasonable result from the presence of pot still whiskey. I caught and hints of dried fruits, liqueur, vanilla and woody presence. The scent was also sweetish. The taste was pleasant, sweetish, slightly fruity, caramel, with light herbaceous notes. The finish was short to moderate in length, fruity. The presentation passed quickly and that were my first impressions of Select reserve, which I will taste again when possible. Assessment: 85-86/100. The price for a bottle is about 30 lv.
