Black Friday, Black cat, Black Bush
I had the honor to have been reviewed Bushmills single malt 10 y whiskey. Bushmills are known for their blends, and therefore I decided to present you the „black label“ of Black Bush. It consists predominantly of malt whiskies, distilled three times and aged between 8 and 10 years in Oloroso sherry casks, then being mixed with selected grain distillate, and for reinforcement of the color is used caramel.
The color is dark, I likened it to cognac /the presence of caramel Е150а is determinative/. I felt notes of caramel, wood and malt /the malt is dried according to the Irish traditions, without peat smoke/. At moments I caught and aroma of raisins, which I associate with the story of the casks in which was aged Oloroso Sherry. The taste is thick, creamy, and at the same time dry and honey. The presence of grain whiskey prevents the fully excellence of the malt. The finish is medium long. It left me with the impression of cherry, raisins and as happened with the single malt – on my tongue appeared subsequent sweetness. At the price of about 30 lv. I think that Black Bush deserves further investigation and I recommend it to the fans of Irish blends.
