След тези слова е време да ви запозная с впечатленията си. Цветът е наситен, наподобяващ сайдер и карамел. Ароматът носи нотки на дърво, на старинен шкаф. Звучи странно, но освен задължителното ухание на спирт усетих и мирис на долап, като онези, в които баба ми криеше сладкото от мен, за да не го докопам преди вечеря. 🙂 Вкусът е сравнително мек, засилващ се след първите секунди. Имайте предвид факта, че алкохолното съдържание е 43%. Поради това си позволих да добавя няколко капки вода, с което умилостивих „духа от бутилката“. Послевкусът носи сухота, примесена с лек нюанс на мед. Преди да пристъпя към финалният вердикт трябва да споделя впечатленията си от самата бутилка. Формата ѝ е четвъртита, като специално се явява гърлото ѝ – същото е издължено, което проличава при сравнение с друга бутилка /вж. сн./.
П.С. От дистанцията на времето усещам, че съм бил може би прекалено строг и взискателен към този бърбън и възнамерявам скоро отново да го дегустирам.
Evan Williams Kentucky straight bourbon
According to the producers themselves „Evan Williams“ is „smooth and easy for consumption bourbon“, named after the founder Evan Williams, who in 1783 discovered the first commercial distillery in Kentucky.
Today, „Evan Williams“ ranks second in sales of Kentucky straight bourbon in the US and continues to be distilled only a few blocks away from the place where Evan himself has built his distillery. Currently, Evan Williams is a property of „Heaven Hill Distilleries“, which produces a number of other types of bourbon, including „Elijah Craig“ and „Heaven Hill Bourbon“, which I hope to have the honor and pleasure to introduce you in the future.
After these words it’s time to introduce you my impressions. The color is intense, resembling cider and caramel. The fragrance brings notes of wood, like an old cupboard. Sounds strange, but besides the compulsory scent of alcohol I felt the smell of cupboard, as one of those in which my grandmother was hiding the sweet from me to not to fall in my hands before dinner. 🙂 The taste is comparatively soft, increasing after the first seconds. Note that the alcohol content is 43%. Therefore, I allowed myself to add a few drops of water, with which I appeased the „genie in the bottle.“ The aftertaste brings dryness, mixed with light shade of honey. Before I proceed to the final verdict must share my impressions of the bottle. Its shape is rectangular with clearly manifested throat – also elongated, which is seen in comparison with other bottle /see photo/.
Final assessment: 3,3-6. Unrealistic assessment, right? Besides the loose aroma, taste and aftertaste which I didn’t like very much, on the assessing also influenced and the price which ranges in between 20-30 lv. In this price range can be found and bourbon „Four Roses“, which to me seems as a more appropriate choice.
