„Greetings, Vladimir!
Four Grain bourbon is named for the four grains in the mash – corn, wheat, rye and malted barley.Baby Bourbon is made from a 100% corn mash, using locally sourced New York grains. The “baby” tag comes from the small batches and small casks we use. To be labeled a bourbon, you have to have at least 51% corn in the mash, made in the USA, and aged in a new oak barrel – which Baby Bourbon is. We also sell a New York Corn whiskey, which is the same spirit, but unaged.
Thanks for your question!
Best,
Hudson Whiskey Team“

Hudson Baby Bourbon
Earlier this month, I introduced you to a new product on our market, a distillate from Tuthilltown distillery – Hudson Four grain bourbon. The special thing about it was that it comes in small bottle all the way from New York, at the young age of several months. Interesting product. I’ll be curious to track its future on the market. Now is the time to introduce you to the second product of Hudson brand, and this is Hudson Baby Bourbon.
Facts about the producers of Tuthilltown can be found at the link with the name of Four grain. Before I proceed to my impressions of the sympathetic chubby „bomb“, I want to express the pleasant feeling, which remained after my brief communication with the people of Tuthilltown, in particular those involved in the maintenance of the company’s Facebook page. What happened?
I had a question regarding the particular bourbon. Non-essential for many. The label on the bottle states that the whiskey is made from 100% New York corn. The question that arose in me was whether the drink is made of 100% corn, or the same comes entirely from New York. What does it matter? The origin of the grain – none. But I hesitated, whether the entirely corn based mash wouldn’t turn the distillate into corn whiskey, instead of bourbon. And to make sure, I sent my question to the people of the distillery, thousands of miles away from here and located in different time zone. A few hours later I received an answer. There it is:

What was this introduction for? Because of the attitude. In fact, at the moment I am an insignificant element of the whiskey universe, who struggles daily to develop its whiskey knowledge. Nevertheless, and before, when I sent an inquiry to the Buffalo Trace distillery, and now, I received a prompt answer to my questions. Unlike those cases, I have experience with some Bulgarian companies and importers/ alcohol distributors, which ignored my questions for months.
Interest = 0. What does that say about them, anyone can judge. Perhaps my messages have disappeared somewhere along the route. Perhaps. It would be a shame, if someone „directly responsible“ simply ignored them. But enough lyrical deviations. A few words about the qualities of the whiskey.
Aroma – woody, spicy, maple syrup, popcorn, sweetness, light notes of cherries, mint, dried walnuts, cake, dried figs and caramelized sugar in the form of sugar figure on a stick. Taste – sweetish, a hint of ‘cupboard’, dried fruits, cocoa. With water – more sweetness and woodiness. Finish – sweet, buttery, medium in length, weak dried fruits. With water – honey, caramel and buttery.
Assessment: 84/100
In conclusion: not a bad bourbon. But it needs time. So far, too immature. It should be noted that its boutique nature predetermines the high price of around 60 lv. for a bottle of 375ml.
